Do not discard people from the past
Yesterday I had a great reunion get together with former student colleagues, some faces I haven't seen in over decade. We have parted ways, gone other directions, but the reason why I hosted this event with two other best friends is because I believe that you can maintain contact with people, even after graduation which happened 12 years ago.

Not my first rodeo
I have for many years planned and facilitated events for maintain network and to bring people together. It's a value of mine since I do not believe in discarding people just because I move on to new universities, companies etc. That is why I also kept my books from school.
Both, can give a flashback to great memories and help me remember my past learnings.
Besides school reunions, I host a yearly get together with people I used to hang out with in Kings Garden near Nørreport Station. It's a hang out spot typically for a sub culture among metalheads, punks or anyone that is creative and individual mindset. I used to hang out during my years as a web integration student. After many hours of looking at code scripts it was nice to sit in a social circle in a park and talk about movies and books. I am older now and do not have the time to do that anymore, except for one day a year, where I gather all those great people from the years of my late teens together in one spot on a big grass field.
How I plan events
1. Make a list of who to invite
When planning a reunion, it is not easy to always remember how many students were in the class, their names and where to contact them.
2. Invite them long in advance
Now that none of us are teenagers and can meet up with short notice due to career or parenthood, this event needed to be planned long in advance, 6 months to be specific.
3. Use emotions as selling point
During those 6 months before the event I posted a couple of content consisting of text and images. They were often amusing since they puked fun at the annoyance of coding in CSS or the memes that were popular in 2011. But it was also spark a sentimental emotion among readers to make them miss those teenage years.
4. Post content regularly
I did not post a lot of content during those 6 months, but just enough to remind the guests of the event and to engage them.
5. Book a place
I booked a long table at a bar due to cold weather outside and so everyone had a seat.
